Saltos Ornamentais: prata para Matthew Dixon e Noah Williams
A parceria na plataforma da equipe da Grã-Bretanha com Matthew Dixon e Noah Williams selou coma medalha de prata no Campeonato Europeu de Glasgow 2018 nos 10 metrso masculino Synchro.
A dupla começou bem e ultrapassou aquele importante marcador de 100 pontos e após as duas rodadas da abertura dos mergulhos, sua pontuação foi de 102,00.
O melhor e maior mergulho pontuado veio na quinta rodada dos saltos, no reverso a dupla marcou 80,58 garantindo um pódio para Dixon e Goodfellow.
“Estamos super satisfeitos com o resultado de hoje, nós [Dxon e Williams] tivemos ótimos resultados este ano, incluindo o Commonwealth silver e essa é uma ótima maneira de terminar a temporada de 2018.
“Quero aprender novos mergulhos mais difíceis para o próximo ano”, explicou Dixon.
A pontuação final de Dixon e Williams foi de 399,90, apenas 0,9 de sua pontuação no Commonwealth Games no início do ano.
Eles foram acompanhados no pódio por Aleksandr Bondar e Viktor Minibaev da Rússia, que levaram a medalha de ouro com 423.12 pontos e o bronze foi para Vladamir Harutyunyan e Lev Sargsyan, da Armênia, com 396.84 pontos.

Águas Abertas: Burnell enfrenta problemas de lesão na maratona aquática
BJack Burnell lutou muito para ficar na disputa de medalhas em Glasgow 2018, mas não conseguiu acompanhar o ritmo na prova de 10k.
O nadador de maratona de Loughborough terminou em sétimo no geral entre 35 atletas, com Toby Roobinson em 9º e Caleb Hughes em 31º.
Burnell estava lutando pelo bronze na reta final contra o campeão mundial Ferry Weertman e o húngaro Kristof Rasovszky.
Ele disse: “Foi um final dolorido no Rio e um final dolorido aqui também. Não foi do jeito que eu queria, quebrei duas costelas na temporada, não estava em forma.”
Robinson acrescentou: “Foi uma prova difícil e os últimos 5k em particular. Acho que peguei o ritmo no inicio porém fiquei exausto no final. Ficar nas últimas 10 ou 12 maratonas no top 10 já é uma questão de experiência para mim.”

Diving: Euro silver for Dixon and Williams
Great Britain’s platform partnership of Matthew Dixon and Noah Williams sealed the Glasgow 2018 European Championship silver medal in the Men’s 10m Synchro.
The pair opened well and surpassed that important 100 point marker and after the opening two rounds of required dives their score was 102.00
Their best and highest scoring dive came in the fifth round of the medal contest, a Reverse 3 1/2 Somersaults Tucked (307C) scored 80.58 and ensured a podium finish for Dixon and Goodfellow.
“We’re super pleased with that result today, we’ve [Dxon and Williams] had some great results this year including Commonwealth silver and this is a great way to end the 2018 season.
“I’ve got the 10m individual still to go and I’m really looking forward to that and then it’s time for a quick holiday, then back to training and learning new harder dives for next year,” explained Dixon.
Dixon and Williams’ final score was 399.90, just 0.9 of their Commonwealth Games score from earlier in the year.
They were joined on the podium by Aleksandr Bondar and Viktor Minibaev of Russia who took the gold medal with 423.12 points and bronze went to Armenia’s Vladamir Harutyunyan and Lev Sargsyan with 396.84 points.

Open Water: Burnell battles injury woes in marathon sprint
BJack Burnell fought hard to keep in medal contention at Glasgow 2018, but couldn’t keep up with the pace in a 10k race that ended with a photo finish.

The Loughborough based marathon swimmer finished seventh overall in a field of 35, with training-mate Toby Roobinson in 9th and Caleb Hughes in 31st.

Burnell was in a breakaway pack battling foor the bronze on the final stretch but fell back in a race where World Champion Ferry Weertman touched out Hungarian Kristof Rasovszky.

He said: “It was a sore ending in Rio and a bit of a sore ending here too.

“It was a bit physical out there and in wetsuits, but I’m not making any excuses.

“It hasn’t gone the way I’ve wanted, with two broken ribs in one season so wan’t coming into this fully fit.”

Robinson added: “It was so hard, the last 5k in particular.

“I think I picked up the pace at the front ut it was just so exhausting by the end.

“It’s taken me 10 or 12 races to get inside the top 10, so it’s all about experience for me.”
