Swim Ireland Shane Ryan Lowers Irish Record on Way to World Final

Shane Ryan is through to the 50m Backstroke Final at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in China after another record-breaking swim. The 24-year-old, who is the current World University Games Champion and European Bronze medalist in the long course (50m) version of the event, had progressed to the semi-final in an Irish Record of Leia Mais

FINA approves new world-class swimming event CHAMPIONS SWIM SERIES 2019

The FINA Bureau approved today the organisation of a new and additional swimming event format, to debut in 2019: the “FINA Champions Swim Series”. Ireland’s Brendan Hyland continued his fantastic form on day two at the FINA World Swimming Championships in China with his second Irish Record in as many days. Swimming in heat 5 of the 100m Butterfly, the National Centre Dublin swimmer touched in 51.54 to knock .66 off Conor Brines’ 2016 record of 52.20. Hyland won Leia Mais

Am zweiten Wettkampftag der Kurzbahn Weltmeisterschaften in Hangzhou stellte die Frauenstaffel einen neuen Schweizerrekord über 4x50m Lagen auf. Das Quartett mit Seraina Sturzenegger (27.97), Lisa Mamié (30.85), Svenja Stoffel (26.33) und Sasha Touretski (24.58) schlug nach 1:49.73 Minuten an und war damit über 1.5 Sekunden schneller als die Nationalstaffel an der EM im Jahr 2010. European Canoe Association celebrates 25 years since its foundation on 11th December 1993. This happened in Rome, Italy, where delegations from European National Federations came together to organise themselves in a Continental association.
