Beside the two sprinters Sarah Sjöström and Georgia Davies, other elite swimmers from the Team Energy Standard will be present at Euro Meet 2019. First of all the Russian World Record holder Kliment Kolesnikov. At the European Championships 2018 in Glasgow, the 18-year-old set up a new World Record in 50m backstroke (24.00) and also won the 100 backstroke event.
The two Ukrainians Mykhailo Romanchuk and Sergiy Frolov will run to the Euro Meet – podium in the longer freestyle events. Romanchuk won gold at the World Championship 2017 in Budapest in 1500m freestyle. At the European Championships 2018 in Glasgow he won gold in the 400m and 800m freestyle and in December in Hangzhou he also became World Short Course Champion in the 1500m freestyle. Team mate Sergiy Frolov won the bronze medal in the 800m freestyle back in 2012 at the European Championships in Debrecen and the silver medal in the 1500m freestyle at the European Short Course Championships in Chartres.

In the freestyle and butterfly sprint events we will meet again with the Brit Benjamin Proud. The 24-year-old was European Champion at the home European Championships last year in 50m freestyle and World Champion 2017 in 50m butterfly.

Elite-Team Energy Standard beim Euro Meet dabei

Begleitet von den beiden Sprinterinnen Sarah Sjöström und Georgia Davies werden weitere Eliteschwimmer des Teams Energy Standard beim Euro Meet 2019 dabei sein. Allen voran der russische Weltrekordler Kliment Kolesnikov. Bei der Europameisterschaft 2018 in Glasgow markierte der 18-Jährige über 50m Rücken in 24,00 Sekunden einen neuen Weltrekord und gewann über auch die doppelte Distanz.

Auf den längeren Freistilstrecken wird wohl kein Weg an den beiden Ukrainern Mykhailo Romanchuk und Sergiy Frolov vorbeiführen. Romanchuk gewann bei der Weltmeisterschaft 2017 in Budapest Gold über 1500m Freistil. Bei der Europameisterschaft 2018 in Glasgow wurde er Doppel-Europameister über 400 und 800m Freistil und wurde im Dezember in Hangzhou Weltmeister über 1500m Freistil auf der Kurzbahn. Teamkollege Sergiy Frolov gewann 2012 Bronze über 800m Freistil bei der Europameisterschaft in Debrecen und Silber über 1500m Freistil bei der Kurzbahn-EM in Chartres.

Im Freistil- und Schmetterlingssprint gibt es ein Wiedersehen mit dem Briten Benjamin Proud. Der 24-Jährige wurde bei der Heim-EM im vergangenen Jahr in Glasgow Europameister über 50m Freistil und Weltmeister 2017 in Budapest über 50m Schmetterling.
